Cross Training Worship

Next Sunday, 10/19, begins 3 nights of worship. The 4 First churches (Assembly of God, Baptist, Christian and Methodist) are getting together to lead worship as a community.
In order to encourage everyone to attend, we will not have Family Fellowship or MYF and OSM that night. I hope you'll join us at 7pm.

Wakey Wakey

It has finally happened.
We now are making three trips to Lufkin Middle School every Wednesday morning. Thanks to all the parents that have helped to take extra kids in the morning to school. We consistanly are having 45 middles schoolers ride the church bus shuttle.
We run our first group of students to the school at 7:30 am. The second arrives at the school around 7:50 and the last bus arrives before 8:15 am.

N2N success

We cleaned up two yards full of trees downed by Ike. Hopefully , we are all getting into our normal routines. N2N is a project we will do again next month.

What is N2N? Neighbor 2 Neighbor is about getting us out and helping those in our community. Projects can range from steps or ramp repairs, yard clean up, painting or other needs. On a N2N Sunday we ask that youth (and families if they like) wear their work clothes to church, bring a sack lunch and a pair of gloves. After church we will head out to do good!

Christian Controversy: Drinking Age

Sunday night after dinner (6pm). We'll tackle the controversy of the drinking age.
Last month over 100 college & university presidents petitioned congress lower the drinking age to 18. The presidents say current laws actually encourage dangerous binge drinking.

We will look at both sides of the issue. Students will get to speak for the side they choose.

To help you prepare yourself here's some information:
