Last Sunday we delayed the start of the TMI series. We spent the hour discussing grief and death. When someone close to us dies, we experience something called grief. Grief can be feelings: anger, sadness, worry, relief, fear, numbness. There is no magic pill for grief. It’s not something you “get over.” A lot of people say grief is like a journey. Every person grieves differently. There are no right or wrong ways to grieve. There are, however, some helpful things and not-so-helpful things you can do while you’re grieving. We hope that you will take a look at this site (http://www.dougy.org )as will be a safe place where you can learn what helps.
TMI Session One: Say Anything (10/24)
Well, we know how you feel about that TV show, that movie, lunch and your former best friend. Technology has given the world access to your innermost thoughts. All we have to do is follow your blog, read your status updates, follow your tweets. And while we do care about what’s going on in your life, there’s a time and a place for everything. It’s just a matter of figuring of the where and the when of what’s appropriate.
Session One Parent Cue: Look at each other’s FB page. Is there something you wish you wouldn’t have shared? Why?
